Joseph Heller once wrote to Tubby in response to one more "please sign and return" request: "This is turning out to be a hell of a lot of work!" All signed books unconditionally guaranteed to be authentic. From the collection of Cuthbert Christian Thambimuttu (1945-2019) of Columbus, Ohio - known to many of his bookseller, author, and illustrator friends as "Tubby." He was persistent in the pursuit of autographed books by the writers and artists he admired, including Gorey, Sendak, Heaney, Byatt, Morrison, Updike and many more. This book is signed/inscribed by Lenny Lipton and signed by Pater Yarow on the title-page. There is a CD inset into the lower cover. The contents are bright and clean, with color illustrations. There are a few small spots of light wrinkling to the upper cover. This book is hard-bound in green cloth, with giltstamping and a color, pictorial paste-down on the upper cover and gilt stamping to the spine, in a very nice dust jacket with light edge-wear. His dreamy, peaceful illustrations perfectly convey the charm of this much-loved story. Eric Puybaret has already published more than 20 books in his native France. He lives in Los Angeles with his wife and family. Lenny Lipton, now a well-known independent filmmaker, wrote the poem which became Puff, The Magic Dragon whilst at university. He believes that music from the folk tradition can bring people together in special ways that reveal how much we truly have in common with one another - and that we can be friends, despite our differences. Best of all?this is only the first of many more collaborations with Peter Yarrow to come! About the Author Peter Yarrow is best known as a singer and songwriter. And everyone will love the way the art cleverly turns the song?s end, which at first seemed so sad, into a surprising and joyful moment. Artist Eric Puybaret has brought an entire magical world into being with enthralling landscapes, color, and characters. In richly-hued paintings of the deepest sea blues and greens, Puff and his friend Jackie Paper frolic in the land of Honalee?traveling in a fantastic boat with billowed sails, climbing red castle stairs onto a balcony to meet with noble kings and princes, and watching pirate ships lower their flags for the roaring dragon. This is a publishing event sure to attract broad attention and please Puff?s many fans. The exquisite package includes a cloth case with a tipped-in illustration and an embossed jacket with foil touches, as well as an exclusive CD featuring not only Puff, but several other songs performed by Yarrow, his daughter Bethany, and cellist Rufus Cappadocia. With Yarrow?s and Lipton?s blessing, Puff, Jackie Paper, and the land of Honalee finally live on the page. Yet singer/songwriter Peter Yarrow and co-composer Lenny Lipton have never allowed a picture book adaptation of this magical tale until now. Puff, the Magic Dragon is simply one of the most beloved songs of all time?a classic that?s become as much a part of the childhood experience as Mother Goose and fairy tales. Signed by Peter Yarrow on title page, includes unopened cd. The dust jacket is currently protected by a clear removable cover.
